The WideRange system allows you to enter third party tracking code to keep track of your website traffic statistics and analytics. The most popular and widely used analytics service is Google Analytics, which is free and provides very robust traffic analytics.
To get started with this, you must first register for a free Google Analytics account here. Then once you're logged in to your Analytics account, follow these steps:
- At the bottom left corner of the screen, click the "Admin" link.
- If you haven't done so already, create a new "Property" for your website domain name.
- This will be a "Web" property.
- For the Website URL, be sure to select the "https://" starting address (not "http://"). Enter your domain name. So the whole thing should look like: https://www.yourdomain.com
- Go back to the "Admin" page of your Analytics account.
- In the Property column, make sure your proper domain is selected at the top.
- Click "Tracking Info", then "Tracking Code".
- Copy the entire "Global Site Tag" script code.
- Return to the WideRange Admin, to the "Settings > Analytics" page, and paste that Global Site Tag code into the "Analytics and Header Script Code" field and SAVE.
Once you have completed these steps, the Analytics tracking code will be included in the header of every page of your website, and Analytics will start keeping track of your traffic. When you log into your Analytic account again after some time you will be able see all sorts of various traffic stats.
Also note that you can use other analytics services instead of, or in addition to, Google's. The process would be similar - you would copy their tracking code and paste it in the same place in the admin.
